catch it! on film

THE FISH, THE FISHING, THE FUN & MORE WHERE COLD WATER FLOWS IN OUR SOUTHERN MOUNTAINS

It's not Alaska ... or the Seychelles ... or the Amazon ... or the wide-open, deep and blue Pacific Ocean. Rather ...

On the evening of April 24, 2026, Blue Ridge Mountain Trout Unlimited (BRMTU) and Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association (BRMAA) cooperatively present CATCH IT! ON FILM  ... a selection of regionally curated short films that discover the fish, the fishing, the fun and more embedded where cold-water flows from the ridges and through the valleys of the North Georgia ranges of the southern Appalachian Mountains.

This is a limited ticket presentation.

2026 films soon to be determined.

Ticketed guests will gather from 5 to 7 pm, April 24, in the gallery of the historic Fannin County Courthouse that BRMAA calls home, while enjoying food, beverages, a live auction of fine outdoor gear and the camaraderie of the outdoor-recreation community, raising funds and building greater awareness for local cold-water resources and recreation.

Sponsors are welcome! Learn more, email: info@blueridgetroutfest.com.

While we plan the 2026 event, this was CATCH IT! ... ON FILM in 2025:

More than $3,000 was raised this evening through ticket sales and an exciting live auction that collected more than $2,000 on a classic Thomas & Thomas Fly Rod matched with a Trout Unlimited Hardy Fly Reel.

2025 films included:

  • Fly-Fishing for Wild Browns on North Georgia’s Public Water, presented by Hardman Fishing
  • Fly Fishing North Georgia’s Tiny Creeks: Blue-Lines and Wild Trout presented by Hardman Fishing
  •  The Last Dragon (Hellbenders!), presented by Freshwaters Illustrated
  • A Deeper Creek (kids snorkeling the Conasauga River), presented by Freshwaters Illustrated
  • Bringing Back The Brooks (trout stream restoration in nearby Tennessee), presented by Freshwaters Illustrated
  •  Fly-Fishing for Brook Trout in the Backcountry (presented by Oyster Bamboo Rod Co.)
